Preservation Ohio, Ohio's statewide historic preservation organization, is pleased to announce a Call for Nominations for the 2008 List of Ohio's Most Endangered Historic Sites.

This list will mark the 15th year that Preservation Ohio has compiled and publicized a list of significant pieces of Buckeye history that face an uncertain future. For the first time this year, properties from the 2007 will remain until such time as an immediate and substantial threat is removed.

This important listing of Ohio historic resources is issued annually by Ohio's statewide preservation organization in an effort to draw attention to significant buildings, groups of buildings including downtowns and neighborhoods, bridges, archeological sites, farmsteads and roads which are threatened by demolition, neglect, or a need for significant funding. Each listed property represents not only a significant piece of history that deserves to be recognized and celebrated, but also exemplifies challenges which face historic resources across Ohio. Being placed on this list does not guarantee protection, but is designed to increase awareness and to focus attention on significant pieces of Ohio history. Former editions of this list have aided in the preservation of historic resources, and have been covered by local, regional and statewide media.
