Re: BREAKING NEWS -- Historic District Files Suit Against Historical Society
by Anonymous
Congratulations to the Ashland County Historical Society for their perseverance. Though it may have seemed like an eternity, you got through it. It's funny how the historic district can get all worked up into a tizzy, but when offered the opportunity to buy the A.N. Myers home for $1.00 and give them the freedom of restoring it to their specifications, they don't want it. I guess it's easier to tell "you" how you're going to spend "your" money. I don't understand what all the moaning and groaning was all about. Maybe the price should have been lowered to $0.50? Yes, this would have been a horrible pity, had this house truly been as grand as it has been made out to be. Unfortunately, that was not the case. As far as "Save Old Ashland" goes, I think the museum is doing a fine job at saving old Ashland everyday; all you have to do is walk through the doors and witness Ashland's history room-to-room, wall-to-wall. Once again...congratulations!
